AGTO and WRO to Offer More of a Challenge

With registration for the repair and replacement competitions over, the final number of contestants in this year's competitions surmounts the previous year! With more contenders, the competitiveness and challenge is sure to be greater as the contestants vie for the grand prize of $10,000 for each competition.
This year's Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician Olympics
(AGTO) will host 21 contestants in the two-day replacement competition.
Contestants are judged by industry veterans on ten different sections
from professionalism and credentials to proper product usage to
windshield removal and installation technique.
The 2012 Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Olympics (WRO) will have 12 contestants over the two day repair competition. In the WRO, competitors are judged on six different areas including customer/technician introduction, proper cleaning, resin placement, environmental element protection, curing and signing the finished work order to name a few.
The preliminary heats of the AGTO and the WRO will take place on
Friday, September 21, during the Auto Glass Week Exhibition/Extravaganza
at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.
The finals will be held Saturday morning during the Exhibition/Extravaganza
and the winners will be announced Saturday evening at the Gala Awards
Reception and Ceremony.
