Is There an App for Glass?

Hartford Financial Service Group Inc. policyholders now have the ability to report their glass claims via a new mobile iPhone™ application. However, company officials say the use of the app won't change the way glass claims work with the company, and that consumer choice will be honored through the system.

"[The iPhone app] does not change the manner in which glass repair shops are selected," Snowden says. "As always, the policyholder is free to choose the repair shop of their choice."

In addition, the new Hartford auto claims application includes an auto accident checklist; a way to submit driver and accident information, including photos; roadside reference guides; review of accident history; and several other features.

State Farm launched a similar tool for its insureds, the Pocket Agent™, last June (CLICK HERE for related story), and Allstate followed with a roadside assistance tool in October (CLICK HERE for related story).
