Glass Technician Olympics Increases First Prize to $10,000
First prize in the Auto Glass Technician Olympics will increase
to $10,000, the largest purse ever in the auto glass replacement
industry, this year. The best auto glass technician will take home
a cash prize twice as large as last year.
This year's AGTO will be returning to Las Vegas, November 7-8,
2008, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The event is co-sponsored
by the Independent Glass Association and AGRR magazine.
"To have the opportunity to provide such a sizeable first
place prize is both thrilling and humbling," stated Holly Biller,
event director. "Without the support of our platinum sponsor
Pilkingtonand all our sponsorsthis year it would not
have been possible and the industry should be incredibly grateful,"
said Biller.
The Auto Glass Technician Olympics was created to provide an educational
venue for technicians. The goals of the event are to increase the
level of professionalism in the industry, to upgrade the skills
of those competing as well as viewing and to help publicize the
AGRSS Standard.
