Belron and Levesque in Settlement Discussions, According to Court Documents

According to a motion filed by Belron US in the company's suit against Michelle Levesque, the parties are in settlement discussions that may resolve the case.

In the original complaint, filed in August, Belron US alleged that Levesque and an associate, Edward Lee, solicited Belron US employees to leave the company and join a new venture. (CLICK HERE for related story.)

Levesque had filed her answer and a counterclaim in September denying many of the allegations and claiming that Belron US required her to work during leave taken under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and did not pay her for doing so, among other claims. (CLICK HERE for related story.)

Belron previously had requested an extension until Monday, October 27, and in the current motion is requesting a further two-week extension-until November 10, 2008.

Michael Boudett of Foley Hoag LLP, counsel for Levesque, declined to comment on the settlement discussions.
