Belron US Suits Against Both Levesque and Lee Dismissed; Both Cases Settled under Confidential Terms
Two separate suits filed by Belron US against former employees Michelle Levesque and Edward Lee have been dismissed, according to court documents filed in both cases, and both cases have been settled, according to Belron US spokesperson Jenny Cain. In the original suits, filed in August, Belron US alleged that Levesque and Lee had solicited Belron US employees to leave the company and join a new venture. (CLICK HERE for related story.)
"The company has entered into a settlement agreement with Michelle Levesque, the terms of which are confidential," Cain told glassBYTEs.com/AGRR magazine today. She said the same of the suit against Lee.
The terms of the settlements were not disclosed. Levesque's suit was dismissed yesterday, and Lee's was dismissed this morning.
Attempts to reach Lee for comment have been unsuccessful, and he has not cited an attorney in the case. Michael Boudett of Foley and Hoag, counsel for Levesque, had not responded to a request for comment at press time.
The Levesque suit was filed in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts and the Lee suit was filed in the U.S. District Court of Southern New York.
Levesque had filed an answer and a counterclaim in September denying many of the allegations and claiming that Belron US required her to work during leave taken under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and did not pay her for doing so, among other claims. Settlement discussions with Levesque have been ongoing since October, according to court documents.
Lee had not answered the complaint filed against him via the Court before the case was dismissed.
