Steve Marelli Wins Best of Belron 2012

Steve Marelli of the United Kingdom was named the winner of the Best of Belron 2012 today in Barcelona. Marelli has been with Belron more than 13 years and credits his passion for the job making him the best of Belron. Marelli wins a year’s salary from Belron and is expecting a baby girl with his wife within the next month.
Hugo Janeiro of Portugal placed second in the competition, winning 5,000 Euros.
In third place and also winning Belron’s competition for Best Repair was Erik Madsen of Denmark. Madsen won 3,000 Euros for his third place finish. Best of Belron typically has three runners up, but due to a 0.01 percent separation, Gary Lubner, CEO of Belron, announced four runners up.
Avon Greer from New Zealand, Jurij Chomenko from Lithuania, Rik van de Loo from the Netherlands and Jamal el Mahmoudi from Belgium will each take home 1,000 Euros.
“Our technicians are not only the best in their countries, but I have no doubt that they are the best in the world,” announced Lubner. “You guys make my job and the leaders of this organization’s job so easy. Without you we wouldn’t have a job. We are filled with pride in what you do here and every day.”
The Best of Belron 2012 featured 29 competitors who competed and won a feeder competition in their country. The event took place May 23-24 in Barcelona, Spain. The Best of Belron 2014 competition will be held in Italy.
