Chadwick Wins Gold in 2008 Auto Glass Technician Olympics
Today, second-time competitor Randy Chadwick of Glasspro Inc. in Charleston,
S.C., took first place in the Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO), held
this week in Las Vegas. Chadwick won the bronze metal in the competition
in 2005--but took a hiatus from the competition, which is in its fourth
year, until now.
"It's been a long time since 2005 and I've been working really hard
for this," he said.
He added, "This is what Glasspro is all about."
Chadwick completed with a score of 246 and a time of 1:50. He utilized
Dow Automotive adhesives. He has 18 years experience.
2006 gold medalist Rob Grace of Cindy Rowe Auto Glass in Harrisburg, Pa.,
took second place, with a score of 241 and a time of 1:59. This is Grace's
third time competing--and his third time making it to the finals. In 2007,
the 15-year veteran finished in fourth place.
Brendan Picard, a second-time competitor, took third place in the competition,
with a score of 239 and a time of 1:50. Picard is with Novus Auto Glass
in Regina, Saskatchewan, and came to the competition after winning the
Glass Dealers Association of Saskatchewan qualifying competition two years
in a row.

The event, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center as part of Auto
