Plant to Close Produced Body and Seam Sealers; No Changes for Dow Automotive
Dow Automotive currently is winding down operations at its plant in Kankakee, Mich., which will cease operations on March 31. The plant primarily produces body and seam sealers for the automotive OEM market, according to Dow Automotive Aftermarket commercial manager Phil Jentoft, who notes that the company planned long ago to close the plant.
"Dow Automotive announced its intentions to exit this market segment in December 2007," Jentoft says. He also notes that none of the products made at the plant dealt with glass bonding.
He adds, "Despite the challenging economic times there are no changes
or cutbacks planned for Dow Automotive Aftermarket," Jentoft adds.
