Guardian Automotive Latest Company to Add Windshield Recycling
April 26, 2012

Guardian Automotive is the latest company in the auto glass industry to recycle windshields. Customers of four of the company’s distribution centers can return broken windshields to Guardian to be recycled.

“We are excited about our new green initiative,” says Scott Billings, director of distribution operations for Guardian Automotive. "Windshield recycling is a win/win – we’re doing the right thing for the environment by keeping windshields out of landfills and we’re helping our customers reduce their waste costs.”

The company plans to expand the program to the other eight distribution centers later this year. The four centers currently participating are Detroit, Cincinnati, Findlay and Atlanta.

“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our customers,” says Billings. “Once we put the new containers out and communicated with our customers, we immediately began seeing damaged windshields being returned.”
