Iowa IGA Chapter Holds Training Class

The Iowa Chapter of the Independent Glass Association (IGA) held its fifth annual auto glass installation class on March 19-20. Twenty-five people attended the class, which kicked off on March 19 with instruction by Gilbert Gutierrez of Equalizer Industries in Round Rock, Texas. Gutierrez spoke about liability, safety, adhesives, installation and overall industry knowledge. He also gave a tool demonstration and held a question-and-answer session about the tools on display.

On March 20, course attendees replaced 11 windshields with the supervision of Gutierrez, along with representatives from SIKA Corp. and Dow Automotive.

The group also replaced a windshield on a 1992 Ford Mustang that had originally been installed in the factory with butyl.
