Safelite Prepares for Launch of TV Advertising;
Also Plans Mass Hiring

Safelite AutoGlass recently announced that it plans to launch a
national television ad campaign this October. The two-week ad campaign
will be shown in a heavy rotation, according to a statement from
the company.
"It is estimated that some 75 percent of adults age 25 to 54
will potentially see the spot 12 times during its run," according
to Safelite's recent press release.
In addition, the company says it is planning to hire technicians
across the United States in areas such as Boston, Chicago, Houston,
Oakland, Calif., San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Alexandria,
Va., in order to support the business the ad campaign is expected
to create. Safelite also has purchased 250 vans and 300 retro-styled
compact station wagons from General Motors and is adding 295 Glass
Medic repair kits to its inventory for the additional technicians
to be hired. The company is offering a a $1500 sign-on bonus to
technicians who qualify.
