Vitro S.A.B. de C.V. recently was recognized by Chrysler Group LLC and Chrysler de Mexico for its participation in the manufacture of windshields for the all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee.
The company was recognized during an event called the “2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Supplier Launch Recognition,” which took place on September 28 in the Vitro Flex installations, a plant facility in the municipality of Garcia, Nuevo Leon with the attendance of more than 300 employees and management.
Brian Belanger, head of exterior-chemical purchasing for Chrysler Group LLC,
spoke during the event. According to a statement from Vitro, he “highlighted Vitro’s commitment to quality as well as its capacity to respond, on a very timely basis, to the needs of the project by supplying a windshield that conforms to the design and performance of the vehicle.”
“We are thrilled to recognize such excellent partners in the 2011 Jeep® Grand
Cherokee Program,” said Belanger. “We have approximately 400 suppliers for this project, and Vitro is one of only fifteen Chrysler suppliers being recognized for their outstanding support during the launch phase.”
During the ceremony he presented the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s Project plan, along with a special plaque of acknowledgement, to Vitro.
“Chrysler and Vitro have maintained a close business relationship for more than 25 years and each time our company has had the capacity to meet the design needs for its automotive glass,” says David Gonzalez, president of Vitro’s Flat Glass business unit.
