WRO Registration Closing in Three Weeks
The
deadline is approaching with only a few spots left! Registration for the
Third Annual Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Olympics (WRO) ends
September 8, 2008. Don't miss the chance to be the only champion named
"World's Best Repair Technician" and winner of the $1,000 cash
prize.
The Windshield Repair Olympics is the premier windshield repair competition
where technicians come together to challenge and learn from one another.
This year, the competition returns to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center
in Las Vegas. The event is co-sponsored by the National Windshield Repair
Association (NWRA) and AGRR magazine and will be held alongside the Auto
Glass Expo @ NACE.
The competition takes place Thursday, November 6, and is open to all.
Eligible technicians must work in a bona fide operating auto glass company
and have at least one year of experience in the industry.
The winner receives $1,000 and title of "World's Best Repair Technician."
The winner's company receives extensive media coverage, use of the Olympic
Winner logo on stationery and business cards and advertising for one year,
and will be featured in AGRR magazine. Last year, Matt Anderson
of Novus Auto Glass Repair and Replacement in Spokane Valley, Wash. took
home the gold.
This competition is the only event of its kind devoted solely to auto
glass repair. Along with the opportunity to display their skills in front
of industry professionals and manufacturers, contestants will be given
free entry into the NACE trade show, the Auto Glass Technician Olympics
(replacement) and the Congratulatory Cocktail Party on Friday night.
Walt Gorman was the owner of A-1 Windshield Doctor in Seekonk, Mass.,
an AGRR columnist and an industry icon sharing nearly 20 years
of his life with the auto glass repair industry. Gorman served on the
National Windshield Repair Association board of directors for ten years
and was one of the association's founders. This competition honors his
commitment and the commitment of others to the finest techniques and safety
in the industry.
Don't miss your chance to take on the challenge. Register early to guarantee
your slot; the deadline is right around the corner.
