Bob BeranekIndustry veteran Bob Beranek was recognized yesterday for his commitment to the industry at the National Glass Association's (NGA) Auto Glass Conference and Expo, where he was named the 2006 recipient of the Len Stolk Special Achievement Award.

With nearly 30 years in the industry, Beranek's volunteerism and leadership both in the industry and in his personal life were cited as reason for the award. In an emotional and brief speech, Beranek thanked the industry, naming Binswanger Glass and Cindy Rowe Auto Glass, among others.

The NGA Auto Glass Conference kicked off with a keynote speech by Gary Lubner of Belron and continues today with seminars on side curtain airbags and roll-over systems, a management seminar on making business more profitable and new technology presented at the Detroit Auto Show.
