Repair Bond Again the Focus in Latest Safelite Commercial
August 16, 2011

In keeping with its recent ad campaign, the newest television commercial from Safelite AutoGlass again focuses on windshield repair and the strength of its new resin. The new commercial, launched August 14, features a Washington state auto glass technician, Brett Sutton, describing the benefits of Safelite's proprietary resin to a customer.

“With most repair resins the quality seems the same, but over time inferior resins can break down and ruin your repair," says Sutton in the commercial. “Safelite’s exclusive resin stays stronger and lasts longer. Plus, thanks to her insurance it was no cost to her.”

Safelite spokesperson Melina Metzger says the commercial debuted on August 14 and will run through August 28.

In July, Safelite also ran a television commercial that focused on windshield repair and the company's new resin, and depicted a company technician describing the company's repair resin to a customer by saying “it bonds stronger, and lasts longer than other resins.”

The National Windshield Repair Association responded to the commercial by urging consumers to make sure their breaks have been repaired in accordance with the ANSI/NWRA Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standard (ROLAGS). In addition, the association encouraged consumers to ensure the break has been filled completely with a resin that has cured, the impact point has been made flush with the windshield, and that the repair technician inspects the finished repair “from the driver’s point of view to ensure clarity without distraction.”
