Auto Glass Week: been there, love it, have the t-shirt … eight to be precise.

It’s my pleasure to say that I have been a part of Auto Glass Week since its inception and have been able to provide input, ideas and inspiration into the event that our industry desired, requested and deserves. Where else can auto glass industry members go for top-quality education, dedicated to the needs of their businesses and specifically crafted to their niches? The exciting Exhibition/Extravaganza floor once again will impress with its ever-growing number of sponsoring companies in their display areas (yes, we were up again for 2013 from previous years). Those attendee-focused exhibits held by supporting suppliers are then intermingled with the much-anticipated and highly sought-after competition arenas.

As a show veteran, I would be lying if I said I don’t still get that thrill of excitement as the dates of Auto Glass Week approaches. There might be a nerve or two in there as well, since I like things to go without a hitch, but with the team that is in place this year, I have no doubt that the event will be incredible and I’m so glad to be here to watch it all unfold. Hopefully, you, too, will make sure you take in at least one, if not both, of our amazing keynote speakers, spend time chatting on the floor during a cocktail party, place a few bids on great auction items Thursday and sit in wonder as our technicians showcase their skills and make us all proud.

So yes, while I am the owner of quite a few Auto Glass Week staff shirts from previous years, I am especially excited to wear one with 2013 on it. Each year we build, expand (did you get a load of those antique and exotic cars yet?) and improve. Please be sure to keep us in your thought process, you have great ideas and we’re happy to implement whenever we can. It’s a pleasure to serve the auto glass industry, and I hope you, too, can say you have attended multiple Auto Glass Weeks, and if this is your first year, feel free to say on September 22, “been there, done that, going back for more in 2014.”
