Novus Glass of Sheridan and Gillette, Wyo., recently raised more than $2,400 for the local Mothers Against Drunk Driving Chapter.
More than 80 cars had windshields repaired on September 14 between the two stores for $20 a piece. The company also took donations for food and soda. All of the money raised at the event was directly donated to the local MADD organization.
“Being able to give back to my community always feels good,” says Mark Pixley, franchisee. “I am glad to know that the money we raised will be a great help to our local and state MADD Chapters.
The Pixleys lost their daughter, Beata Kamran, along with two other young adults in 2003 in an alcohol-related crash. Kamran was 16 years old.
“Putting a stop to our teens and young adults losing their lives to drunk driving accidents is very important to us,” says Pixley. “Beata was a member of our family and we don’t want anyone else to have to experience a loss of someone close to them.”
