Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW) and joint venture partner Jinjing, China, plan to build a new automotive glass manufacturing facility utilizing existing float glass capacity in Zibo, China. The facility will serve automotive OEM customers in the country.

The site is located in Shandong Province near Jinan, China, which is a high-technology manufacturing center offering an educated workforce, easy transportation access, and closeness to customers, according to officials.

Groundbreaking is planned for mid February 2014, with production expected to begin in mid 2015. The new facility will have automotive glass capacity for 2 million units and employ more than 350 workers.
