  1. James says:

The auto policy rates for those who garage their cars within the city limits of Detroit is so cost prohibitive that the majority of citizens can’t afford to buy auto insurance. Two thirds of Detroit residents do not own a car. Of the one third that do own a car, it is estimated that over 50% of them are driving without insurance. It is a huge problem for the citizens of Detroit and when Mayor Duggan was campaigning they let him know it was a priority for them. Again, over half of the drivers in Detroit do not have auto insurance. I hope that helps you understand why he brought it up at the State of the City. ~ Peace!

  2. Martha Borner says:

Who on earth can afford to pay $11,360 per year – $946 per month for car insurance for living in the 48227 zip code?

I am looking forward to the proposed D-Insurance, we have been ravished by rates long enough!
