Dow Automotive Systems, a technology-driven solutions provider offering a broad range of innovative, technician friendly and price-competitive, advanced glass replacement adhesive technologies, is proud to announce its sponsorship of Auto Glass Week™ at the Bronze level. The three-day international event features automotive glass repair and replacement competitions, educational seminars and an exhibition/extravaganza where sponsoring companies will be seen.
“Auto Glass Week is an important meeting place for all members of the automotive glass replacement industry. It is an opportunity for everyone to exchange ideas in a comfortable setting,” according to Chris Swart, global communications manager at Dow Automotive Systems.
As a Sponsor of Auto Glass Week, Dow Automotive Systems will be featured on the show floor October 7-9 and will “showcase its latest product innovations and talk about what’s on the horizon. We know a lot of people are very interested in our All-in-One Primer, BETAPRIME™ 5504G, and its performance on all surfaces and applications, including new vehicles like the aluminum alloy body of the 2015 Ford F150 Pickup. There is also interest in our heavy contaminant remover, BETABRADE™ F1, a fast, effective and foolproof way to remove silicone residue and other heavy contaminants from automotive glass,” Swart stated.
Dow Automotive Systems chose to sponsor Auto Glass Week 2014, because “as an industry leader, Dow Automotive Systems Aftermarket is committed to supporting the entire automotive glass replacement industry. Auto Glass Week is an excellent opportunity to meet with everyone in the industry in one place,” explained Swart.

The annual event, managed by AGRR™ magazine and co-sponsored by the Auto Glass Safety Council, Independent Glass Association, National Glass Association and National Windshield Repair Association, draws more than 1,000 attendees and features top industry players on the show floor each year. Auto Glass Week will be held in Baltimore, Md., at the Baltimore Convention Center and Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
When asked if she had any advice for the 2014 repair and replacement contestants, Swart answered that “contamination on the windshield isn’t always visible, so it’s important to include contamination removal as part of your standard operating procedure when prepping replacement glass. Contestants should familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations, as well as ANSI/AGRSS Standards and ASM instruction and documentation.”
