Sergeant Dakota Meyer, Medal of Honor recipient and best-selling author, will deliver the Tuesday keynote address at Auto Glass Week™ 2014 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md., on October 7. He is scheduled to speak Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. about taking advantage of the opportunities life gives you, holding each other accountable to achieve our potential, striving constantly for the best possible outcome and creating a support network during his presentation.

Meyer is a United States Marine Corps veteran, the recipient of the Medal of Honor—the military’s highest honor, and the New York Times best-selling author of “Into the Fire: A Firsthand Account of the Most Extraordinary Battle in the Afghan War.” He is also an entrepreneur, having founded a successful construction company in Kentucky.

Meyer earned his medal for his actions during the Battle of Ganjigal, which was part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He is the first living Marine to have received the medal since 1973 and one of the youngest. Humble and soft-spoken, Meyer insists that he is not a hero, and that any Marine would do the same thing. He addresses inspiration, motivation, courage, leadership, believing in yourself, doing what is right and what happened that day in Afghanistan.

In addition to Meyer’s keynote address, Auto Glass Week will feature educational seminars, an Exhibition/Extravaganza area with suppliers and the ninth annual GlasWeld Windshield Repair Olympics in Honor of Walt Gorman (WRO) and Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO).

The International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ (WFCT) will also be held concurrently with Auto Glass Week. WFCT consists of informative seminars dedicated to window film dealers and installers, as well as the attendee-favorite Tint-Off™ competitions.

Meyer believes that anyone can achieve greatness, and he inspires his audience to do their best. His humility, sincerity and courage are what make him such a beloved and popular speaker.
