Rod Watson, technical services manager for Carlex, is retiring. He got his start in the industry in 1974 as a float production engineer for PPG.

“Rod was a cornerstone of the business during the transitional period from Ford to Carlex,” says Tim Siterlet, central region sales manager and marketing manager for Carlex. “He was heavily involved in the Carlite Technician’s Training School and has served on the Auto Glass Safety Council’s AGRSS Standard™ Committee for many years.”

“I’ve met a lot of great people who tend to stay in this industry and work hard to improve it,” says Watson. “AGRSS™/Auto Glass Safety Council is a prime example of this. One of the most challenging times in my career was the introduction and implementation of the Carelite Autoglass Replacement System (CARS) program that provided glass delivery and emphasized proper glass replacement.”
