The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) recently awarded two new DOT numbers. One went to Fuyao Glass America in Moraine, Ohio, while the second and third went to overseas countries.
Fuyao Glass America was awarded DOT number 1038. Chinese automotive glass maker Fuyao Glass Industry Group recently purchased a former Ohio GM plant to open its first North American glass manufacturing facility. The new company division is called Fuyao Glass America.
Globally, the company provides batch OEM supplies for Audi, Bentley, Volkswagen, GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, PSA, Volvo, Hyundai and Chrysler, according to the company website.
DOT number 1039 was awarded to Nanogate Glazing Systems of Geldrop, Noord Brabant, Netherlands.
Nanogate offers “extremely high-performance plastics, making them an effective substitute for glass, and as a lightweight element they offer a wide variety of uses that enable innovative designs, lower fuel consumption by vehicles and a high level of durability and safety in heavy-duty areas,” according to the company’s website.
DOT number 1040 went to Xinyi Auto Parts, which is based in Tianjin, China. Xinyi Auto Parts is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xinyi Glass.
“It mainly produces safety auto glass, special sealing materials, special glass and other auto parts, supplying OEM support of automobile manufacturers in East China,” according to the company’s website.
