Competitor registration and sponsorship opportunities have opened for Auto Glass Week™ 2015. The event is set to be held September 30 to October 2, 2015, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nev., and will include educational seminars, an exhibition hall and AGRR™ magazine’s Auto Glass Technician Competition (AGTO) and Windshield Repair Competition (WRO) in Honor of Walt Gorman.
Auto Glass Week is once again sponsored by the Auto Glass Safety Council™, Independent Glass Association, National Glass Association, National Windshield Repair Association and AGRR™ magazine.
Competitor registration includes admission to all seminars, workshops, social events, one ticket to the Gala Awards Dinner and Ceremony, and access to the exhibition floor where the competitions will be held. For further details on competition pricing and to register to compete in the AGTO, please click here, and to compete in the WRO, please click here.
The annual event will bring together all aspects of the automotive glass industry. Tools, mouldings, adhesive systems, automotive glass and more will be on display, discussed in seminars and incorporated within demonstrations and the two high-energy competitions.
The registration deadline for competitors is August 14, 2015. Competitors cannot register onsite.
Prizes for the 2015 winners have also been finalized. New this year, the AGTO competition will be expanded into two categories—regular (10 technicians or less) and large businesses (more than 10 technicians.) A first place will be awarded for each category. Each champion will receive $5,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Auto Glass Technician.” For second and third places, competitors from both categories will be pooled. The second and third place winners could represent either a small or large automotive glass business. The second place winner will take home $1,000 and a silver medal, and third place will receive $500 and a bronze medal.
The first-place winner for the WRO will receive the grand prize of $5,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Windshield Repair Technician.” Second place will receive $1,000 as well as a silver medal, and the third-place winner will get $500 and a bronze medal.
