10 Years—Showcasing Technicians
The Auto Glass Technician Competition (AGTO) will be held October 1-2, and the Windshield Repair Competition in Honor of Walt Gorman (WRO) will be held September 30-October 1 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The champions will be crowned at the Gala Awards Dinner and Ceremony on Friday, October 2 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
Auto Glass Technician Competition
Celebrating its 10th year, AGTO provides the opportunity for technicians from around the world to compete by replacing a damaged glass part. Industry veterans judge the competitors’ replacements as well as their procedures, safety, cleanliness and customer interaction. It is also a chance to learn from other professionals, execute safe, quality installations, pick up innovative techniques and, of course, compete for the chance to hold the title of “World’s Best Auto Glass Technician.”
New this year, the AGTO competition will be expanded into two categories—regular (employee of a company with 10 technicians or less) and large businesses (employee of a company with more than 10 technicians). A first place will be awarded for each category. For second and third places, competitors from both categories will be pooled.
In order to compete, you must be employed currently as a technician in a bona fide automotive glass company, you must have at least one year of experience as a technician in the automotive glass industry and you must follow the current AGRSS Standard™. Please note that there will be a cap on the number of competitors and spaces are given on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to register early. The registration deadline for competitors is Friday, August 14. No registrations will be accepted after this date or onsite.
