Baseball-Sized Hail Causes Glass Havoc in Arkansas

Parts of Arkansas, including Bentonville and Russellville, were pummeled with baseball-sized hail on Tuesday evening. As residents in the hard-hit areas pick up the pieces, local AGRR companies are being bombarded with calls.

“We’re seeing broken backlites and windshields, as well as chip repairs,” says a customer service representative for Glass Doctor of Central Arkansas, based in Hot Springs, Ark. “We’re seeing the whole nine yards.”

“It wasn’t specifically us who got hit. It was Bentonville and Russellville and we’re picking up in business. We’re very busy right now. They are in our territory,” says the CSR who was too busy to give her name.

“The National Weather Service received 170 reports of hail on Tuesday afternoon and evening, 20 of which were reports for hail at least 2 inches in diameter,” according to a local report.

There were more than 100 reports of large hail from Georgia, through Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma and into Texas on Tuesday, according to another report.
