The Idea Man is Still at It

Peter Gold is no stranger to inventing new products and has a long history with glass in the automotive industry. The founder of Gold Glass Group (GGG), Gold moved on from there in 2009, but he has been very active as an inventor. His inventions revolve around safety, and he now serves as CEO of Inview Vehicle Trim Corp. of Rockville Centre, N.Y.

Through InView Gold is tackling the sideview mirror. In large trucks, there is usually a large blind spot than in vehicles, and Gold has come up with a new product to limit this.

“We brought the mirror up higher and it is more directional. Now truck drivers can see more easily around their vehicle,” Gold explains.

Another one of his inventions involves placing a special reflective film on vehicle’s doors. This film allows other drivers to see when a vehicle door is open at night. It is designed to enhance the safety of the driver and passengers as they exit and enter the car. The film is produced by 3M.

“You don’t see the film at all during the day. It is visible only at night by reflecting light,” Gold explains.

It is visible up to 1,000 feet away at night.

“Inview Vehicle Trim is produced exclusively by 3M Corp. for Inview Vehicle Trim Corp. to provide a lifetime of value and service to allow the trim to be seen both day and night when applied to various locations of the vehicle door window frame,” says Gold. “Our company was formed to provide constant research and development to provide practical new results that justify consumer choice in the market place. We are pleased that our advancements are now in fact leading to more new patented products to advance brand recognition to provide a choice that in the past simply was not available at any price to the consumer.”

Peter is the father of Joe Gold, president and owner of GGG.

  1. Congrats to Mr. Gold.

To innovate once a decade is huge. To innovate in several decades is legendary.

Our industry is fortunate to have the Gold family.
