Staff from United Kingdom-based Auto Windscreens will be donning their cycling shorts on July 24, 2015 to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer.
Teams from the company will compete against each other in the “Tour De Chesterfield,” attempting to cycle the same distance covered by Tour de France competitors on the same day. The race will include 50 riders, split into four teams, led by the senior members of the business at the company’s head office in Chesterfield, U.K. The cyclists will use stationary bikes donated by Simply Gym.
“I’m thrilled to be hosting this event for such a worthwhile cause and humbled by the number of staff supporting this rigorous challenge,” says Chris Thornton, managing director of Auto Windscreens. “In the U.K., one in eight men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives so I’m very proud to be putting my love of cycling to good use.”
