Automotive Glass Repair Competition Grows

With Auto Glass Week™ right around the corner, news surrounding the annual competitions is really starting to heat up! We look forward to seeing past competitors at this year’s event, as well as several new faces.

Currently in its tenth year, the GlasWeld Windshield Repair Competition in Honor of Walt Gorman (WRO) is back and better than ever. Our competitor registration numbers for this year’s WRO are 50 percent higher than in 2014!

“I am looking forward to having a greater representation of the repair industry at this year’s WRO,” said Tricia Lopez, competition coordinator.

Registration to compete in any of the competitions is now closed, but we hope you’ll join us at the Gala Awards Dinner and Ceremony on the final night of Auto Glass Week to help us crown the winners. The first-place winner for the WRO will receive the grand prize of $5,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Windshield Repair Technician.” Second place will receive $1,000 as well as a silver medal, and the third-place winner will get $500 and a bronze medal.

Join us on the exhibition floor at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center to watch the attendee-favorite WRO firsthand. Here are the dates and times to remember:

Wednesday, September 30 2:20 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. | Windshield Repair Competition Heat 1 5:00 p.m. – 5:55 p.m. | Windshield Repair Competition Heat 2
