Auto Windscreens has acquired the United Kingdom’s Automobile Association’s AGRR business, known as AA AutoWindshields.

AA AutoWindshields Preston, U.K., offices and staff of 200 will be integrated into Auto Windscreens team. Under a ten-year partnership agreement, the AA will continue to use Auto Windscreens to deliver glass repair and replacement services for its members, business-to-business and insurance customers.

The ten-year partnership is to ensure a “seamless transition,” according to Ian Crowder, head of public relations at the AA.

“This is a strategic decision reflecting the highly competitive nature of the market, which demands considerable long-term investment in technology and marketing in order to achieve competitive scale,” he says. “Auto Windscreens already offers that degree of investment and scale with a strong focus on customer service. It reflects the AA’s customer ethos and thus offers the best solution for both growth of business and for customers.”

Chris Thornton, managing director of Auto Windscreens, adds, “This marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for Auto Windscreens and further reinforces our position as a leader in the industry. Through a continuing collaboration with the AA, we will provide a full windscreen repair and replacement service to their customers and insurance policyholders.”
