GlasWeld Windshield Repair Competition Finalists Announced

The finalists for the GlasWeld Windshield Repair Competition in Honor of Walt Gorman have been announced.

In alphabetical order, the finalists are Chris Lewis of TechnaGlass Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah; Randy Olson of Chip Medic in Bend, Ore.; Ben Rorick of TechnaGlass in Spanish Fork, Utah; and Jeff Wurst of Crackmaster Windshield Repair in Redding, Calif.

Lewis is a store manager at TechnaGlass Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lewis, 37, has 19 years of experience in the industry. He will be competing in both competitions for the fourth time. He is the TechnaGlass automotive glass installer champion and also took home the gold in the 2014 Auto Glass Technician Competition. He and his wife, Candace, have seven children: Daisey, Kayla, Jamin, Justin, Skyler, Kasen and Paislee. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Lewis is excited to return to defend his title.

Randy Olson

Randy Olson

Olson is the owner of Chip Medic in Bend, Ore. Olson, 61, has 10 years of experience in the industry. He will be competing in his third Windshield Repair Competition and was the 2010 Windshield Repair Competition champion. He and his wife, Vicki, have two children, Amy and Erin. In his spare time, Olson enjoys golfing, playing the bass guitar, cycling and physical fitness.

Ben Rorick

Rorick is the store manager at TechnaGlass Inc. in Spanish Fork, Utah. Rorick, 34, has 10 years of experience in the industry and will be competing for the first time. He is a mobile electronics certified professional and a TechnaGlass competition champion. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Anja and third baby on the way. In his spare time, Rorick enjoys LT vinyl and RC wooden boats.

Jeff Wurst

Jeff Wurst

Wurst is the owner of Crackmaster Windshield Repair in Redding, Calif. Wurst, 60, has 22 years of experience in the industry. He will be competing in his third Windshield Repair Competition. He is a nominee for the Chamber of Commerce Hall of Excellence Award. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, fishing, gardening and spending time with his daughter, Kathleen.

The GlasWeld Windshield Repair Technician Competition finals will be held Thursday, October 1 at 2 p.m.
