Safelite Group, parent company to Safelite AutoGlass, is acquiring substantially all of the automotive glass assets of Turner’s Custom Auto Glass based in Florence, S.C. The company will operate under a co-branding strategy “until further plans are made,” according to Safelite.
The deal was finalized at the close of business on November 13, 2015.
Turner’s Auto Glass has been owned and operated by Danny Turner since 1984. It is headquartered in Florence, S.C., with additional locations in Camden, Little River, Manning, Myrtle Beach and Sumter.
Turner will continue to operate the commercial glazing business out of Florence. He will also serve as a consultant to help transition the automotive glass associates and business over to Safelite AutoGlass.
As of May 2015, the South Carolina company had 17 AGRR technicians and 38 employees. It was founded in 1982 and has estimated annual sales of $5.8 million. (The company was recognized as one of AGRR™ magazine’s 2015 Top Automotive Glass Retailers.)
“We are pleased to welcome Turner’s Auto Glass employees to the Safelite team,” says Tom Feeney, president and CEO of Safelite Group. “As new associates, we are happy to offer them all the resources they need to succeed. Additionally, we are delighted to be able to continue to provide local customers access to the best value and service in the industry.”
