Auto Glass Week Social Media Logo 2016Registered and prospective Auto Glass Week™ competitors can now view the official competition rules and regulations as well as annotated score sheets online. Currently in their 11th year, the GlasWeld Windshield Repair Competition in Honor of Walt Gorman (WRO) and the Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician Competition (AGTO) are back for Auto Glass Week 2016.

The exhibition floor is set to be held October 5-7 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. This year’s event will encompass everything from educational seminars and exhibits to networking opportunities, as well as the attendee-favorite competitions and the all new Closing Awards Concert and Party.

Prizes for the 2016 winners have also been finalized. Again for this year, the AGTO competition will be expanded into two categories—regular (10 technicians company-wide or less) and large businesses (more than 10 technicians company-wide.) A first place will be awarded for each category. Each champion will receive $5,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Auto Glass Technician.” For second and third places, competitors from both categories will be pooled. The second and third place winners could represent either a regular or large automotive glass business. The second-place winner will take home $1,000 and a silver medal, and third place will receive $500 and a bronze medal.

The first-place winner for the WRO will receive the grand prize of $5,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Windshield Repair Technician.” Second place will receive $1,000 as well as a silver medal, and the third-place winner will get $500 and a bronze medal.
