It’s been a tough year for Tesla. Earlier this year, consumers reported visibility issues with

the Model X windshield and now reports are coming out about the glass taking on a reddish color after rain.

“Is this normal? This is what my windshield looked like after a brief but heavy rain..,” reports user “SSD420,” on the Tesla Forum.

According to owners, the panoramic windshields on this particular model become discolored following a bout of rain, and many are wondering what’s

causing this red color to appear. The discoloration only appears on the upper portion of the windshield and fades away as it dries.

The Model X was designed with an all glass panoramic windshield with optimized solar tinting, leading some consumers, namely user “bonnie,” to believe it could be the UV coating causing the issue.

Tesla has yet to comment on the issue.
