Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) continued as a headlining trend during Auto Glass Week™ Thursday. It came up Thursday morning in a discussion by the National Windshield Repair Association’s (NWRA) ROLAGS Committee.

“Do we need to look at something for ADAS?” asked Keith Beveridge of Novus Glass, committee chair. “ADAS isn’t addressed in our Standard at all.”

Linda Rollinson of Superior Auto Glass of Tampa Bay, Fla., said the committee should add a section in ROLAGS about handling the new technology.

“We have some data on this,” noted Beveridge. “Rather than rewrite the Standard, let’s look at what the impact of ADAS is. The subcommittee will explore it and make a report at the May ROLAGS Committee meeting.”

He added, “We’ve done some testing with ADAS windshields and we’ve successfully repaired them.
