Safelite® Group has reached an agreement to acquire substantially all vehicle glass repair and replacement assets from Nebraskaland Glass, Inc., which provides service in eastern Nebraska.
The transaction was completed November 4, according to a November 7 press release.
Nebraskaland Glass is a family-owned operation that has been in business since 1964. “We are very eager to join forces with the Nebraskaland Glass team,” said Tom Feeney, president and chief executive officer of Safelite Group. “Together, we can offer the best vehicle glass repair and replacement service to eastern Nebraska customers while growing a successful, caring business.”
Of the two Nebraskaland Glass locations, Safelite AutoGlass will continue to operate the York facility while relocating the Lincoln employees to the nearby Safelite AutoGlass store. Safelite AutoGlass and Nebraskaland will operate co-branded in the market.
Also, the Boyd Group Inc. announced the addition of repair centers in Michigan and Louisiana.
The company acquired a “multi-store operation” in the Detroit, Mich., region, adding an additional five collision repair centers to its presence in the market, according to a November 8 press release. The centers previously operated as Adrian’s Collision Centers.
“We are excited to be expanding our presence in the Detroit region, a large market with a population of over four million,” said Tim O’Day, president and chief operating officer of the Boyd Group’s U.S. operations. “Our new locations in Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Marysville, Northville and Southfield complement our 14 other centers in the Detroit area and provide us with more options to better serve our customers and insurance partners.”
The Boyd Group also announced the opening of a new collision repair center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. “We are very pleased to add this new location which positions us well to serve the northern neighborhoods of the city,” O’Day said.
