U.K.-based National Windscreens announced December 14 the appointment of Alistair Carlton as technical manager.
With more than 23 years’ experience within the auto glazing sector, Carlton’s appointment forms part of the company’s long -term investment strategy to maintain technological advantage as the automotive glazing sector moves through a period of rapid change, according to a company press release.
“Over the next few years the automotive glazing sector will undoubtedly face unprecedented change, at a pace not seen in the last 20 years,” Alistair said. “A main driving force behind this change is the increasing speed of technological advances in vehicles and, in particular, the need for calibration services to be carried out in workshop conditions to ensure Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) continue to work as intended.”
Pete Marsden, managing director at National Windscreens, said Carlton will take responsibility for maintaining National Windscreen’s technical leadership in all aspects of automotive glazing.
“Alongside his work with vehicle manufacturers, Alistair will be working with companies such as Dow Chemicals and Hella Guttman to maintain our competitive advantage through innovation and technical excellence,” Marsden said. “Alistair will also drive the technician development and training programs that are a key part of delivering outstanding service in all aspects of our operations.”
