D’Ieteren has reported a strong financial year in both sales and growth. Belgium-based D’Ieteren owns Belron, which in turn owns Safelite AutoGlass in the U.S. The company credits its progress to market trends, to a Belron gain in market share in the auto glass repair and replacement industry and to having a pipeline to upcoming vehicles.
D’Ieteren says 2016 was a very positive year with both D’Ieteren Auto and Belron realizing sales growth and higher adjusted operating results, and with the acquisition of Moleskine. Belron reported $ 3,493.1 million in sales, +4.6% organic increase, primarily due to growth in the US, the UK, Germany, France, and Spain, a 0.9 increase from acquisitions and a negative currency translation effect of 0.9%. Belron brought in a respective $3.4 billion and $201 million in FY 2016 in sales. Belron sales for the year increased 6.4% in comparison to 2015.
“Belron is also expanding its services to focus on solving problems for people who need assistance with repairs to their vehicles,” according to the financial results.
D’Ieteren Auto reported $3,293 million, +8.4% year-on-year from higher volumes and positive mix effect. New car registrations increased by 10.4% year-on-year.
