Massachusetts Bills Could Amend Auto Insurance Definition

Massachusetts Senator Michael Moore introduced a bill to amend the state’s current definition of insurance, which umbrellas auto insurance.

The proposed amendment reads, “Section 1 of chapter 157L, as added by chapter 493 of the acts of 2014, hereby amends the definition of ‘certificate of insurance’ by striking out the words ‘insurance binder’ in the second sentence.”

The bill was heard by the Joint Committee on Financial Services and is eligible for Executive Session.
