Auto Glass Groups Meet in San Diego

The boards and committees of the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) and the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) are holding their Spring meetings in San Diego this week.

AGSC’s Education Committee met on Monday and continued with its update of the AGSC Certification program and related examination. The committee has increased the pool of exam questions to more than 500.

The AGSC Marketing and Credentialing committees met on Tuesday and focused on the completion of a full marketing plan and expansion of outreach to the insurance industry.

The AGSC Board of Directors met and finalized its budget as well as conducted a full review and update of its strategic plan. The board was also briefed on the ongoing initiative to harmonize the technician certification program with the AGSC registered member program. “The goal is for all technicians that work for AGSC registered companies to be certified by the end of this year,” said certification director Vincent Lamarco, “and we are well on the way to achieving that goal.”

The AGSC Automotive Replacement Glass Safety Standards (AGRSS) Committee spent the morning today reviewing and approving changes to the AGRSS Standard that include and address ADAS systems.

Meetings continue this afternoon with a joint one between the boards of AGSC and NWRA to discuss matters of mutual interest.

NWRA meetings continue tomorrow.
