Belron has signed a global deal with Locpin, a smart-location application company that makes a solution designed to help technicians find the vehicle requiring repair. The partnership follows a trial between the companies working together in the United States.
In the United States, 1,200 Safelite jobs were completed using Locpin to locate customers’ exact locations. Rollout of Locpin’s patent-pending mobile technology will begin in the U.S., with wider rollout in the UK and other markets expected later in 2018, according to the company.
“Locpin’s solution has helped us accurately and effectively find our customers and their vehicles, at first attempt,” says Nick Burton, chief information officer for Belron. “We saw an overwhelmingly positive response from our customers during the trial with Locpin. They were happy to engage and share information to help the technician locate them more easily.”
Guy Davenport, co-founder and CEO of Locpin, adds, “We’re really pleased to cement our partnership with Belron and Safelite Autoglass. The Locpin team developed a robust and scalable solution to tackle the challenges Belron’s technicians were facing, allowing greater customer engagement and improved technician productivity. I am incredibly proud of how the team demonstrated our ability to quickly get to the root of the business challenge and work in an agile and collaborative way to quickly implement a solution that has real impact for Belron.”
According to a press release, customers who book a Safelite appointment will receive an automated message, enabling them to quickly provide the precise location of their vehicle anywhere in the world, plus additional details to help locate their vehicle, such as the color of their car and contact details.
