Auto Glass Week™ continues its role in industry advancement with the addition of a new competition dedicated to recognizing those performing ADAS Calibrations properly. The first ever Auto Glass Technician Calibration competition will be held during Auto Glass Week ’18, September 27-29, 2018 in San Antonio. It is sponsored by Opti-Aim.
The technology behind Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) often makes recalibration of the ADAS system necessary after a windshield replacement. This competition will focus on the proper methods and technology necessary for such calibrations.
First prize is $5,000 and bragging rights as the “World’s Best Auto Glass Calibration Technician.” Competitors can sign up online at http://autoglassweek.com beginning June 8. The deadline is July 16.
The Gold medalist and grand champion will be announced at the closing awards party on Saturday, Sept. 29.
“These competitions raise the bar for proper and superior work by auto glass employees,” said competition coordinator Tricia Lopez. “We were thrilled to add the Customer Service “Best CSR” Competition last year and are delighted to add the emerging and important field of calibration this year.”
