Hyundai Genesis Recall Affects Windshield and Rear Window

Hyundai Genesis owners have a new recall to keep an eye out for. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released certain 2018 G80 and G90 models earlier last month, with recalls expected to start June 30, 2018.

The bonding strength for the front and rear glass reduces over time and can cause visibility issues. This increases the possibility of drivers crashing because the windshield and rear window might detach when a person is driving. Hyundai Motor America claims both the windshield and rear window may have been installed with an incorrect primer.

Owners of these models will be notified by Hyundai about their recall and dealers will replace the windshield and rear window glass free of charge. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236. The number for the recall is 001G.
