GlasWeld launched a new program focusing on repair and designed specifically for women in the auto glass industry earlier this month. #WomenRockRepair is a new program that offers advanced hands on training, mentoring, and business coaching. The program is open for both women who are interested in joining the industry and those currently in it.
“Some of the most skilled technicians that I’ve ever met happen to be women. They tend to be very detail-oriented, diligent and personable, which leads to high-quality repairs and happy customers,” Shiloh Spoo, GlasWeld president said.
The company aims to use its new program as a platform to help establish woman-owned small businesses and hire more women to work in the industry.
“The #WomenRockRepair program is all about three core ideas: 1) Inspire women entrepreneurs to consider starting a windshield repair business; 2) Inspire women in the auto glass industry to expand their skill set; 3) Encourage auto glass decision makers to hire more female techs,” Spoo said.
Female technicians across the country have been sponsored by GlasWeld to compete in the 2018 Auto Glass Repair Competition to be held in San Antonio, September 27 to September 29. The company also gave hands-on training and coaching through its training day in June.
The company even has pink auto glass equipment tailored to women. Currently a pink curing light is featured in limited amounts.
