Safelite Restructures Sales Team

Safelite Autoglass has restructured its sales efforts with the elimination of one type of position and the introduction of three new ones. “On Friday, we announced the elimination of the Area Sales Manager (ASM) position,” said Tom Feeney, president and CEO of the Safelite Group in an interview with glassBYTEs.com/AGRR magazine on August 21. “We are introducing three new positions in our field sales model. They are the Regional Agency Manager, the Agency Service Representative and the Commercial Account Manager. We feel these positions will better equip us for growth in the future.”

“It’s a hard thing to do and it’s very emotional,” said Feeney, of the restructuring. “We value and appreciate all the contributions these people have made in the past. Many will have opportunities to remain with the company in different capacities, but we appreciate them all.”

When asked about expansion into home services or the flat glass arena, Feeney said that wasn’t going to be the focus in North America. “We remain focused on auto glass,” he said, “and that’s where we are concentrating. We don’t plan on focusing on anything else.”
