Vehicle Sensor Recall Could Impact Your Customers

There is a new recall you should be aware of, courtesy of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Certain Daimler Vans USA, LLC vehicle makes have been found to have issues that impact the industry.

Nearly 600Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles equipped with LED high performance headlights are affected by the company’s latest sensor calibration recall. According to the NHTSA, the company is recalling vehicles due to the potential for unexpected changes in the headlamp lighting angle. The administration states the issue may affect driver visibility and increase the risk for an accident. The company states the headlamp may not have been calibrated and thus, would cause issues with the lamp’s angle.

Glass shop representatives working on the recalled models can assure their customers that the sensors will be inspected for proper calibration and will calibrate if needed free of charge. According to NHTSA, the recall is expected to begin June 4, 2019.
