The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold a sample “mock” AGSC audit Thursday, September 5, during Auto Glass Week™ in Indianapolis. It will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the show floor in the Auto Glass Informational Demonstration Area.
The demonstration’s purpose is to showcase and take the mystery out of a full-stage third-party audit. Experienced and trusted veterans in the industry conduct the presentation to help assist shops in what they might be missing in their preparation and management of the ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard.
AGSC lead auditor Penny Ouellette of Orion Registrar Corp. will conduct the audit as technician Jason Olejniczak of Glass America installs a windshield.
The ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard addresses six critical areas relative to the auto glass installation process:
- Vehicle assessment;
- Selection of glass and retention systems;
- Installation standards for adhesive bonded glass;
- Installation standards for rubber gasket set glass, as well as additional requirements for all other glass in a vehicle;
- Continuing education for auto glass technicians; and
- Consumer interaction.
The mock audit will intentionally demonstrate common examples of non-compliance and attendees will see first-hand how to rectify them.
Auto Glass Week is the only event devoted solely to the original equipment (OE) and aftermarket automotive glass repair and replacement industry. It will be held at the Indiana Convention Center with the JW Marriott Indianapolis as the host hotel.
With an informative educational program, busy trade show floor and captivating competitions, Auto Glass Week is the perfect learning and networking event for those who want to drive their businesses forward.
