Improper Window Glass Tempering Recall Might Impact Your Customers

There is a new recall you should be aware of, courtesy of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Certain Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) 2019 Crosstrek vehicles have been found to have issues that impact the industry.

According to the administration, hundreds of Crosstrek Subaru’s have window glass that may be improperly tempered. The driver’s side rear-door window glass “fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205” that relates to glazing materials. The NHTSA states the issue may affect driver visibility and increase the risk for an accident.

Glass shop representatives working on the recalled models can assure their customers that the driver’s side rear-door window glass will be replaced free of charge. According to NHTSA, the recall began June 11, 2019. Shop owners can advise their customers to contact Subaru customer service if they have more questions at 1-844-373-6614. The number for this recall is WUG-92.
