Automotive Manufacturer Equipment Compliance Agency, Inc. (AMECA) announced an update to its automotive glazing certification program. The changes include:
- A six month audit of manufacturers.
- Alternating AMECA personnel and outside entities for audits.
- Having greater flexibility in labeling for automotive safety glass.
“Our industry research indicates that 80% of consumers value third-party product certifications for their automotive equipment,” says Kevin Wolford, company director.
The company notes not every manufacturer who applies will be granted certification.
