New Safelite Commercial Highlights Calibration Services

Safelite recently released a new commercial that highlights two concepts to its customers. Both show a customer going into a brick-and-mortar Safelite location, and one highlights vehicle camera calibration as a necessary service.

The commercial, which can be seen on network and cable stations, features two friends walking to their car when the owner of the vehicle notices a large crack in her windshield. She then takes her vehicle to a Safelite storefront where a technician can be seen replacing her windshield. In a longer version, it continues with the technician mentioning the option of helping the customer with calibrating her vehicle’s camera.

Considering they don’t have the equipment in most of there stores this is fraud. They have been billing all insurance jobs and customers for months and the stores don’t have calibration equipment yet. lock them up for insurance fraud.

  2. i have heard the same thing, I know I’ve learned straight ‘from the horses mouth’ that they sublet to the dealers, one told me. I wonder if they have to wait 45 – 60 days for authorization for recalibrations from dealers to bill out???? I have one i’m still bugging them about since August 30th. I get ‘we’re waiting on the insurance company’…that is with all the docs and everything.

From an educational stand point I like that they are informing consumers the need for calibrations, It takes me a lot time everyday trying to educate my customers about ADAS. Even the dealer’s according to an article I read here are confused about ADAS process. My shop has the calibration equipment. Ken

The problem I see is that they can not calibrate all models and have to make there customers travel a good distance to there shops!!! But so what tell the public anything!!! If we can get Calibration Standards would make life a lot easier for everyone.
